lazy sunday thrifting

My mom and I woke up really early for some dollar days at the bowling alley. Upon getting to the bowling alley we realized there were leagues playing and to be honest, we are impatient women. So we thrifted. Half off at the salvation army. I walked into the door and instantly fell in love with that gun metal typewriter table, then the typewriter then the witch.

such a good day laughing with my mom and aunt. I needed it so bad.

oh life.

Mary Kate and Aaron were married last saturday. It was beautiful. It was so beautiful it made me want to start planning my wedding again. No, I have no plans to get married anytime soon and have no idea to whom but I havent really looked at wedding stuff since I broke off that two year relationship last fall.

I am in a completely different place than I was this time last year. I turn 24 in less than a month, im single, im happy, im living the life.

I dont drive. I have never had a license. I live in downtown Portland and I work in downtown Vancouver. I miss the first bus almost everyday. I miss the second bus often. Sometimes i ride the MAX all the way to work. I wait in the rain. In the snow. I wait all the time. I get cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Despite all this, i love the quiet hum of being in transit. i love observing the life around me and capturing photographs with my mind.

ceiling > fireflies

I am an adult. a full blown paying bills adult. Sometimes this independence scares me. i have my own apartment. I do what I want when I want. I lead a very lovely little life comprised of amazing small gracious moments.

Wednesday I laid in bed naked all day, signing along to a cd on repeat and staring at my ceiling. It was more soothing than fireflies in Georgia. The cold air traveled through the window and over my skin in such a familiar way. The silence between songs kept me grounded while the melodies took me to far away places.

I wouldn't give right now up for anything.
