happy thanksgiving, good bye, etc.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I will be eating dinner at my parents and then going to Brandons parents!!! Because he is coming home from school tomorrow! I feel like I just saw him last week, but its been a couple and I am so excited! Ignore the morning hair shot of me below, focus on the shirt.

Saturday I'm going with Brandon back up to his school to meet all his new friends and experience a part of his new life! I can't wait.... well I could wait for the dorm part... with a bathroom down the hall and the showers are upstairs. ugh.

Here are some other recent photobooth goodness:
I've had Hollys ring for months, this is proof to her I did not lose it. ha. Also I was having a good hair day.
I reached into my coat pockets today to find change and shrinky dink bunnys in one pocket and some change and heart buttons in the other. it was magical.
Today I got another postcard in the mail from brandon! This time a vintage postcard from Spokane. Apparently he found this sucker online and got it for me. I love it!

It's going to be really cold in Cheney and I stocked up on socks and under garments. My cousins letting me borrow her snow pants and I need to get snow gloves. I cannot wait to play in the snow with brandon! Im hoping we get to go sledding or ice skating. There will be pictures posted when I get back.

I took my measurements

34 28 36

Brandon's reaction: She's a brick....... HOUSE.

This leads me to believe Brandon does not know me at all. For I am not mighty mighty nor do I let it all hang out.

things I make, calendar edition

Last Sunday I mentioned I was really exciting about something. Here's a sneak peak at what I've been up to!

I haven't decided what kind of paper to print it off onto yet, and I might even take it somewhere to print, although I only need about 8 copies, one per family household. 8x14=112. Thats a lot of pages to print. BUT they are half letter pages, so its really only 56. Still a lot of printing for my little printer. Also it would be nice to have someone else bind them. My minds not made up yet!

Are you doing anything special for your family this holiday season?

wtf sunshine?

Notice the sunshine flares coming in through my window behind me? Behind the thick warm stockings, knee high socks, and rainboots? Behind the things that I bought because I hadnt seen the sunshine in forever?

Sunshine, I welcome you with open arms but you make my winter-y-ness feel silly.

I laughed out loud, literally.

it rained literally all day.

So I went to Nordstroms rack and bought these for $27. I feel like the city of portland should give rainboots out for free. And also clear the slick wet leaves off the damn side walks.

Things I like today, sweater girl.

(all images via)

I do not like that Urban Outfitters always changes their website layout. I also do not like that they are so expensive and lack quality. This being said, I LOVE THIS MODEL and her clothes. Ummm, hello drop dead gorgeous, you make me want to dye my naturally light blonde hair chestnut brown. You also make me feel like I should lose 15 lbs, which is ok because I will still love you.

Yesterday during lunch-with-my-momma, I eye balled her brown braided leather belt and she gave it up, no questions asked. Shes cool like that. By 'cool' I mean absolutely wonderful.

Things I make, thai toast!

im not feeling well... so whats a girl to do? Eat peanut butter toast and drink theraflu! Gods gift to the cold. Except whats a girl to do when she has no peanut butter?

Its like slightly spicy delicious thai toast.

Here's the recipe I use to make my peanut sauce:

1 1/2 cups peanut butter, chunky or smooth
19 oz coconut milk
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup sugar
1 table spoon red curry paste

Mix all but peanut butter in a pot, when warm add peanut butter, stir until well mixed and pour into a glass jar.

Now, I dont add the salt, and I had 2 0r 3 time the curry paste, because its delicious.

This recipe is an adaptation of Yo's, a guy who makes delicious curry in a cart at school. Although I am always dispointed when its not exactly Yo's i need to ask him his secret.

Anyway, I'm going to go back to scarfing this food down and listen to Brandon play the guitar on skype.

Do you have any recipes to share? I love testing out new ones!

I am really excited.

about the _________ i am making for my grandparents for christmas. Like REALLY excited. Lets be honest, they dont read this blog. Im making calenders with all the family members birthdays. I cant wait to get the whole process started!

things i like today, mom days

I made this book in my letterpress class, i'll show better pictures when i get it back.

My moms taking me grocery shopping today. I need to stock up for winter. I loooove lazy days at my parents house. One is much needed since I dont think I have had one in a month. I a hoping to figure out how to get my camera to hook up to my computer today. because I have pictures!!!! ugh!

I also bought my holiday "tree" yesterday, its really a rosemary potted plant in the shape of a tree, its perfectly small and smells so good! but i will miss that pine tree smell and might have to buy a scented candle.

on another smelly note, something in my fridge smells like death. i cant figure it out. i'll be deep cleaning that sucker tonight!

EDIT: my mom bought a giant package of toilet paper, she she could give me four rolls, my mom bought me a soda because i said i was thirsty, my mom took me to 3 different stores, my mom rocks.

My dad is pretty awesome too. i treated him to sushi, where we ate our hearts out and he fell in love with spider rolls.

for chelsey

Here Chelsey, you can day dream a little more. ha. love ya!

she's fat

Introducing Brandt, he's a friend of mine. Who stayed up and helped my do my homework until the wee hours of the night. Gotta really like those kind of friends... and coffee. He also is teaching my sign language and Im not very good, as you can tell in the video, I didnt know he was calling me fat.

He's single ladies...

things i like today, embarassing poeple.

In this case him and myself. After 6 weeks of not seeing B, he came home exhausted from the 8 hour long car ride. As he rested in my bed, i pretended to pinch his butt in photobooth.

Some parts of this weekend were amazing. Like seeing someone you love so much, hugging so tight you cant breathe. Then... then there are those parts that I could have done without, like I tried really hard to make him feel special and he... didnt. ouch. hello hurt feelings. I feel incredibly dumb for thinking that things would change. Every time he tells me he'll do something, I believe him, I wait and wait and... I always feel so dumb when I realize it wont happen. Also my feelings were hurt when he didnt want to be my partner when we played Taboo with his family.

Ok, enough of debbie downer. I have projects due every day this week. Big projects. I am not sure how it is all going to get done. I probably will not be blogging much, see you next week!

I feel like crap

i am emotionally and physically drained.

i am also getting a cold.

i am also not excited about anything right this second.

Things I make, letterpress!

Oh hello lead type, hand mixed red ink and free-bin white paper.
Or.... Lead type, copper ruling, hand mixed red and blue ink and expensive paper.
Or.... Lead type, copper ruling, hand mixed red and blue ink and free-bin white paper.
And these were the personalized recipe card birthday presents I made for Margo and Chena, except these are for my mom. Switch the name out and changed the ink color a little and ta-da! I can't wait to make some for myself! I'm thinking blue ink, like on the lined paper.

Speaking of the lined paper, why would one made such a thing? Because I can! I love the idea of hand making something that has such an iconic "cheap" look. Because people, letterpress takes time and patients. Two things I seem to never have enough of.

I spent from 11am-8pm in the letterpress lab last Friday(I did take a lunch), and I wasnt bored once. Once I'm on the press I dont want to stop. Mainly because stopping means cleaning and cleaning rubber based ink off a vandercook is no fun.

I hope to share more of what I have made soon!
